Developer Profiles
With our previous wave of developers, we were able to reach out to a few specific developers to give us their history, their day-to day business, and a quote of their opinion about us.

Sam Donovan – Junior Front-End Developer
Background & Qualifications:
In 2024, Sam joined HotBeans after completing a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Manchester. Before gaining his degree, he ran a popular game developer blog where he had taught himself not only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to customize the site, but also a bit of C# for a side-game that he was working on. During his time in University, he specialized in human-computer interaction and had completed a summer internship deal, where he built interactive dashboards for a fintech startup.
Quote:
“At HotBeans, I’m finally living out the dream that is my love for design and code. The support here is unreal; there’s always someone ready to help, challenge, or inspire you no matter how flawless you think the work is.”
A Day in the Life:
Sam starts his day with stand-up at 9:30 am, which is then followed up by bug-fixing tasks assigned through Jira. He often collaborates with many from the design team to turn a few Figma prototypes into clean, responsive code that can be used for a multitude of purposes. His afternoons are usually filled with a range from code reviews and learning sessions, to diving into animations using GSAP or Framer Motion. He’s also accounted for as the unofficial “meme lord” within the company.
Priya Sharma – Junior Full-Stack Developer
Background & Qualifications:
Priya pivoted into tech after a long five years within digital marketing, where she first became curious about what backend mechanics of the tools she had been using all this time. She then completed a full-stack dev bootcamp with Le Wagon and quickly impressed us with her incredible React and Node.js skills. She’s also certified in AWS Cloud Foundations and has been keeping a keen interest with building scalable web apps, much like some others here at HotBeans.
Quote:
“HotBeans have given me lots of room to grow from day one. I have never felt like I was ‘just a trainee’. I’m always treated like a valuable part of our dev team.”
A Day in the Life:
Priya’s mornings start with pairing sessions, which helps her work on features for client dashboards. She then alternates between backend API work in Microsoft Express as well as Front-end tweaks in React. Lunch often involves her chatting about tech trends or accessibility standards with her groups. In the afternoons, she then digs into unit testing, unless when she shadows our senior devs during their deployment. She is also co-leading a little lunchtime workshop series that focuses on clean code.

Jordan Wells – Junior Web Developer (Accessibility & QA Focus)
Background & Qualifications:
Jordan has an impressive background in graphic design and accessibility advocacy. After earning a well deserved degree in Inclusive Design from UAL, he transitioned towards web development through the Founders and Coders program, which is a peer-led bootcamp, known for its immense focus towards community-driven tech and accessibility best practices. Jordan always excels at ensuring every site we ship is easily accessible, fully functional, and very beautiful. His clear attention to detail makes him a QA powerhouse as well as a passionate advocate for our inclusive web development company.
Quote:
“It’s so rare to find a company that focuses on accessibility from the ground up these days. At HotBeans, I get to make the web better for everyone at any time, every day.”
A Day in the Life:
Jordan typically starts his day with a screen reader audit or color contrast check on a new or readily available client build. His mid-mornings involve logging feedback, as well as collaborating with developers to implement any accessibility fixes they may have forgotten about previously. He also tries to test sites across several devices and browsers. After lunch, he sometimes lead an internal “Accessibility Hour” where the whole team shares tips to each other. His afternoons are all about polishing the UIs to make sure that they’re fully usable for all kinds of users.
